Artist and sculptor Amanda Randall works mainly from her studio in London, UK, but is also involved in projects in Dorset and Coventry. She studied Sculpture at Maidstone School of art from 1982 – 85 and has extensive experience of creating public art commissions, often in rural locations – see the archive for a few examples.

Stone Carving

For the last ten years she has specialised in stone carving. Through this medium she celebrates our connection with the earth that supports us and creates durable and beautiful artworks. Amanda is a trustee of the Burngate Purbeck Stone Centre in Dorset and works as a tutor there.

Exhibitions, Residencies and Public Art Commissions

Solo exhibition of Stone Sculpture, Burngate Purbeck Stone Centre.
Stone carving demonstrations, lectures and participation workshops for the National Trust at Corfe Castle.

‘The Story of Water’ residency in Special Schools, for Coventry City of Culture and the Thames Festival Trust

2020/21

‘Nature on the Line.’ Sculptures and drawings of ancient woodlands in Warwickshire damaged by HS2. Presented online via an interactive map. For Arts Council England.

Multiple public art commissions for Forest Enterprise, the Fieldfare Trust, Groundwork, Southampton City Council, Crawley Council etc

Community Arts and Education Projects

1988 – 2020

Residencies and workshops involving children and adults from many backgrounds. Past clients have included the Thames Festival Trust, Coventry City of Culture Trust, Forest Enterprise, the Fieldfare Trust, The Prison Service, the Workers’ Education Association, the National Trust and many local authorities.

Current Teaching

Stone carving classes for adults at the Landmark Arts Centre, Corfe Castle (National Trust), Kew Gardens, The Burngate Purbeck Stone Centre, Paxton’s Arboretum, and the Kenilworth Centre.
